a summary of the AMA today with $WRLD
Chevkev: Can you tell a bit more about yourself and why you started the project?
Daniel: Probably the hardest question of them all. Basics: I’m in the United States (specifically crypto hell, aka New York). I’m leveraging my formal training in a wide range of topics, including engineering, computer science, and economics, to create these projects.
World Builder itself is a think tank and incubator, leveraging blockchain to help monetize public goods and improve conditions around the world.
WRLD itself is the core economic token and is used alongside child projects like public health coin (PHC).
I started the project for a few reasons. First, to be blunt, I felt like the crypto world needed an infusion of economic theory and social theory that was somewhat lacking. A lot of projects mean well, but they’re not leveraging existing economic theory to build a healthy ecosystem.
And of course, I wanted to do something to improve the current human condition. Honestly, technology has done so much already. But it can do so much more to improve socioeconomic conditions.
Chevkev: What have you been working on in the past few months?
Daniel: Let’s see. The project itself started one year ago. July 31, 2019, was when WRLD itself was created. Over the past few months, I’ve been working on the forge mechanic and creating the initial child projects related to WRLD.
1. Promote, Health which is a fledgling organization that will improve public health practice.
2. Academic Reward Token, a token that monetizes scientific and general academic research.
3. Arcadium, a game token and virtual arcade system.
The three projects are just starting out, but the forge works for each one.
The forge is operational at this point, which is really exciting. It’s what really differentiates WRLD from many other tokens.
I think there’s another AMA question related to use cases, so I’ll expand on that a bit more in a little bit. The forge is a really neat mechanic though.
I’ve also been working on creating the platforms for each associated token. Promote. Health is live, and I’ve been working on a paper that should be published soon. The paper is about the need to monitor infections in the general population.
Right now, the public health community simply doesn’t know what fraction of the population has basic infectious diseases, like influenza. Even with all the testing going on with COVID, the public health community still actually doesn’t know what fraction of the population has SARS-CoV-2!
Chevkev: Do you have a preview of the platform that you have been working on?

Early versions of the mini-games, which are used to give WRLD some initial demand, as well as the faucets, which are used to collect WRLD, are live.

Chevkev: What is the use-case of your token and what makes it unique compared to other tokens?
Daniel: Two things. First, we didn’t do a traditional ICO. Instead, it’s what I refer to as an “IGO” (initial gamified offering). The faucet and waterfall allow people to collect a good amount of WRLD. Value for WRLD was immediate, as the mini-games allowed WRLD to be used.
Certainly, it’s more painful in terms of finances. The project didn’t collect much TRX, as would be the case with a traditional ICO. But it helps ensure that WRLD is treated as a utility token so that Satan (SEC) doesn’t bother us. It is however a very fun way to distribute some tokens.
The second major difference is the forge. Trying to figure out an inflation rate for child tokens like PHC is difficult. That’s where my economic background comes into play.
WRLD is essentially a base material. It’s used to forge these new tokens, so that supply increases with demand. Meanwhile, the forge temporarily locks WRLD out of circulation.
So it creates a healthy token supply for associated projects while boosting WRLD’s value. The forge contracts then send the burned WRLD back to the faucet/waterfall.
Chevkev: What can we expect in 2020 from your project?
Daniel: ‘ll be working on the three current child projects. Only once those projects are more secure will I add the next project (CUR — a token to monetize curation).
I’ll continue building up a userbase and cleaning up any code. There are some parts that will need to be tested further. The current versions of PHC, ACW, and ARC will be listed on NoleX in a little bit. They are however subject to upgrades. If there are any issues, I will work with the community, and the NoleX team, to make the transition as simple as possible.
